   This page can encode a piece of text using a simple substitution algorithm (with a few wrinkles).
       You choose a 5 letter code word which the recipient must know to decode the message. They must use this program of course to decode it. Not sure how useful this is, but I wanted to do it.
       A sample coded message is shown below. code word: piano
    
     Click on one of the buttons above to begin.

    Type or paste the message you wish to encode, called plaintext, in the upper left box.  
    
    You can use letters only, a space between words, commas, periods, and question marks.
    
    Then choose a 5 letter code word that will be used to encode your message.  Use only lowercase letters for your code word.  
    
    Enter the code word into the small box above, and click the "Start Encoding" button.  
    
    The encoded message, called the cyphertext, will appear will in the lower left box.  You can copy and paste the cyphertext into a document or email to send to the recipient of the secret message.  Be sure to enclose the code word for the recipient to use to decode your message.
